Funeral services for Ivy Hines Swain, 94, of the McCrayville Community in Decatur County, will be held Saturday, July 24, at 11 a.m. at Mount Ararat Primitive Baptist Church in McCrayville with the Revs. Alexander Mack, Darrell Harrison, S.L. Phillips, Renson Thompson and John Gardner officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Ararat Memorial Garden with Vincent Dewitt Edmond, Charles Mack Jr., Shedrick Swain Jr., Myron Swain, Calvin Swain Jr., Herbert Swain, Bobby Swain, Ron Cooper, Jarvis Baker, Larry Bush, Shawn Wilson and Joey Laster serving as active pallbearers.

A lifelong resident of Decatur County, Mrs. Swain was a member of Mount Ararat Primitive Baptist Church. She was a retired domestic worker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Swain.

Survivors include four sons, John L. Jones, Shedrick Swain, Ozell Swain and Tommy Swain; six daughters, Totsie S. Edmond, Artice C. Mack, Annie Doris Harrison, Shirley Wright, Ida S. Bush and Sandra Swain; a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other family and friends.

Chandler’s Funeral Home in Attapulgus is in charge of arrangements.
