Funeral services for Flora Hardy, 97, of Dothan, Ala., and formerly of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held on Wednesday, July 21, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating.
Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville with Chris Jackson, Kirk Maddox, Sammy Maddox, Joe Burke, Jeff Phillips and Chris Thomas serving as active pallbearers. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m.
Born in Houston County, Ala., on April 9, 1913, Mrs. Hardy died on Monday, July 19, 2010, at Wesley Manor in Dothan.
Mrs. Hardy was a member of First Baptist Church of Donalsonville and worked as a barber. She loved animals and working with her flowers.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sybil Grace Cheshire Edwards, Ella Ruth Cheshire Taylor Grandberry and Martha Alene Cheshire Adams; and a granddaughter, Laurie Lynn Hardy Snider.
Survivors include a son, Clint Hardy of Dothan; two brothers, Billy Mack Cheshire of Dothan and Edsel Donnel Cheshire of California; two sisters, Mary Lee Cheshire McKeller of Athens, Ga., and Bonnie Inez Cheshire Allen of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
