Lucile Barber

Funeral services for Lucile Johnson Barber, 88, of Donalsonville, were held Tuesday, July 20, at Spring Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Dean and Dr. Charles O. Walker officiating.
Interment followed in the church cemetery with Tony Johnson, Lamar Blackburn, Garry Perry, David Johnson, Randy Earnest and Lowell Johnson serving as active pallbearers.
Born April 23, 1922, in Decatur County, Mrs. Barber died on Sunday, July 18, 2010, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville.
Mrs. Barber was a homemaker and active member of Spring Creek Baptist Church as long as her health allowed. She had held several offices in the church over the years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry B. Barber; two sons, Earl B. Barber and Steve M. Barber; three brothers, Milton Johnson, Robert Randall “Buddy” Johnson and Roy Johnson; and three sisters, Ruth J. Earnest, Earnestine J. Alday and Juanita Wilkes.
Survivors include a son, Roy Barber of Donalsonville; three sisters, Bobbie Jo Perry of Donalsonville, Ada Blackburn of Bainbridge and Onys Sanders of Lake City, Fla.; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and two daughters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
