Coach Mark Richt’s 2010 University of Georgia Bulldogs football team will have a definite Bainbridge High School Bearcats flavor this fall.

Starting junior safety Nick Williams, starting senior outside linebacker Darryl Gamble and backup redshirt freshman center Ben Reynolds are looking forward to contributing to the Bulldogs success this season.

Coach Richt told reporter Matt Stewart of The Albany Herald that Willams’ fervor for the game is outstanding.

“The one thing we particularly like about Nick Williams the most is how fast he plays and how much enthusiasm he brings to the game,” the Bulldogs head coach said.

Two years ago as a sophomore, Gamble had two interception returns for touchdowns to help lead the Bulldogs to a 52-38 victory over the Louisiana State University Tigers in Baton Rouge, La.

Gamble is one of the leaders of the Bulldogs linebacking corps.

An outstanding all around athlete, Gamble started at inside linebacker last season but was switched to outside linebacker this past spring to add depth at that position.

He is one of only three Bulldog linebackers with game experience. The others are redshirt sophomore Cornelius Washington and junior Justin Houston.

Coach Richt said that walk-on redshirt freshman Reynolds listed third on the Bulldogs’ depth chart at center, caught his eye with his good play in the spring.

“I love Ben,” Richt said referring to Reynolds. “He’s one of the smartest guys on the field along with defensive end Matthew DeGenova. He’s tough as nails and can be mean as a snake. It’s fun to watch him compete.”
