Durell Hutchins Jr.

Funeral services for Durell Wesley Hutchins Jr., 67, of Bainbridge, will be held Saturday, July 17, at 11 a.m. at Southwest Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Nalls and the Rev. David Grubbs officiating.
Interment will follow in Roselawn Memory Gardens with Brian Parker, Mitch Parker, Tyler Hutchins, Austin Ellis, Brent Hamm and Brad Hamm serving as active pallbearers.
Born Oct. 28, 1942, in Miller County, Ga., Mr. Hutchins died on Thursday, July 15, 2010, at his residence.
Mr. Hutchins moved to Decatur County when he was 9 years old and had resided here since. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church and made it his No. 1 priority to attend church regularly. He was a manager at Thomas and Betts until his retirement. He loved hunting, fishing, golfing, working, his family and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Parker.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Melanie Faircloth Hutchins; two sons, Gordon Hutchins of Climax and Stacy Hutchins of Cairo; one daughter, Deanna Ellis of Bainbridge; one sister, Brenda Hamm of Bainbridge; and seven grandchildren.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
