Cheerleading clinic exciting

49 kindergarten through fourth-grade girls learned the latest cheers, chants, dances and tumbling routines this week during the annual Bainbridge Leisure Services Department Cheerleading Clinic.

The clinic, instructed by members of the award winning Bainbridge High School varsity football cheerleading squad, began Wednesday and ran through Friday at the new Bainbridge High School gymnasium. Sessions began at 9 a.m. and concluded at noon.

The varsity football cheerleading squad is coached by Pam Bland. The award winning competition cheerleading squad is coached by Sheri Dunn-Ulm and Lauren Turner.

Squad leaders are senior captain Ivy Heard, senior co-captain Allison Kelley and junior co-captain Michael Jones.

Other squad members include senior Tiandria Burke, senior Chelsey Bryant, junior Morgan Rogers and sophomore Karley Harris.

Completing the squad are sophomore Searcy Smith, sophomore Maddie McIntyre, sophomore Katie Faythe Roland, sophomore Jada Smith, sophomore Micailah Phillips, freshman Hannah Bius, freshman Anna Lee Wiggins, freshman Kay Bush, freshman Emma Kate Smith, sophomore Jalyn Harrison and sophomore Aubrey Weaver.

During Friday morning’s final clinic session the campers put on an enthusiastic performance for their parents that included tumbling, cheering and dancing.
