Graveside funeral services for Daisy Merle Scott Newsome, 77, of Cartersville, Ga., will be held Monday, July 12, at 11 a.m. at Brinson Cemetery.

Born in Bainbridge on Aug. 26, 1932, Mrs. Newsome died on Friday, July 9, 2010, at Cartersville Medical Center.

Mrs. Newsome was of the Baptist faith, was a very personable person, and loved to fish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Newsome; and siblings; Elmer “Pat” Scott, Tanksley Hutto, Lonnie Chester Scott, Forester Scott, Junior Hutto, Mary Catherine Hooks and Willie Virginia Nix.

Survivors include two sons, Alvin Charles Henderson and William Edward Scott; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
