Tuesday marked the changing of the guard of leadership in the Bainbridge Rotary Club, which has been serving Bainbridge and Decatur County since 1937.

Leading the club is President Emily Yent.

Yent assumes the presidency with a history of serving her community. She has been a resident here for 15 years and has been employed at the Edward Jones office since her arrival in Bainbridge. She has achieved the designation of Accredited Asset Management Specialist in her field and has an active financial consulting business.

In addition to her professional duties, she has been active in the Presbyterian Church, previously serving as an elder. She has also served Bainbridge as the president of the Pilot Club in 2006-2007 and as a member of the American Cancer Society Board.

She and her husband, Robert, have been married for 30 years.

To support Yent and her agenda, a nine-member board includes Past President Mike Harrell, Secretary Bo Jones and Treasurer Bill Burke. Directors in charge of various areas include service-Marlene Free, membership-Marjorie Mayfield, administration-Jay Wells, foundation-Bridget Collier and public relations-Don Robinson, M.D.

While the club will be consistent in the support of this community, the approaches may vary. It will be an exciting year for this club of 109 business and professional men and women, as well as for the local and global community we serve.
