The hair and goose pimples will rise

Heavenly days, all these years I been hearing the “Star Spangled Banner” played and sung, I never knowed they wuz but that first stanza. Well, to my surprise, I find out that there is 3 more and iffen you don’t believe the hair on your neck will stand and goose pimples rise on your arms. Gittem and readem.
I also last Thursday went to the “Book Nook” and bought Mr. Frederick Smallwoods book, “My War.” In 24 hours I read the book. You could not put it down. Three great things in it that was really great, Roosevelt’s speech, “Yesterday will live in infamy, they left out—so help me—us God,” on the War World II Memorial in Washington. Then the fact that Mr. Smallwood fired one clip from his rifle in the air during the “Battle of the Bulge.” He was lucky he was not captured. Then on the back of his book, the poem, “A Soldier Died Today.” If that don’t boil your blood and bring tears to your eyes, nuthen will.
Hunter Neel and Andrew Adams won the Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish Tournament with 4.91 pounds. It rained near 2 inches of rain on them.
Our week has had a Mayfly hatch this week and that brings on the fly rod fisherman and the crickets on cane poles and bream busters. One boat had 87 big bream on crickets, 50 bream off beds with crickets, 45 bream on May Flies on fly rod, limit catch of bream and shellcrackers off beds with crickets.
Crappie has been taken every day on minnows and jigs. One boat had 25 crappie on minnows, 35 crappie taken on the Flint, regardless of what you might think, crappie will bite all summer long. You just have to move to where they’re at.
Stripers has schooled down in front of the dam all week long and were taken on several types of lures and they bit live bait for some.
