Funeral services for James H. “Jimmy” Harper, 60, of Decatur County, were held Friday, July 2, at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Adren Bivins Sr. officiating.
Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery with friends of Mr. Harper’s family serving as active pallbearers.
Born March 28, 1950, in Bainbridge, Mr. Harper died on June 28, 2010, at Memorial Manor in Bainbridge.
Mr. Harper attended Decatur County public schools and was a carpenter by trade. Later in life, he was an employee of Georgia Industries for the Blind in Bainbridge.
Survivors include two sons, Dawan Harper and Antonio Harper; a daughter, Nikki Harper; six brothers, Roy Harper Jr. of Baltimore, Md., Larry Harper of Jacksonville, Fla., and Willie Curtis Harper, Bobby Jerome Samuel, Eddie L. Harper and Daryl Dukes, all of Bainbridge; seven sisters, Joan H. Coleman, Retha Green, Cynthia H. Green and Gwendolyn H. Gilbert, all of Bainbridge, Beverly Harper of Atlanta, Ga., and Debra H. Hogan of Noblesville, Ind.; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
