Seminole Ramlins

Several things have happened this week that make me think that the South-west corner of Georgia is on a big swing forward. First, the movie to be made on Lake Seminole about a “Dance School for Girls.” Then the courthouse brick street scene in Bainbridge in “Fishers of Men.” Also the big progress at the Boat Basin parking lot and restrooms. Then the movement of the three old voting buildings to the Swine Time grounds at Climax. If that ain’t four of a kind, grits ain’t groceries.

Colby and Brian Weathersby won the Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish Tournament with a 5.15 lbs. Bass.

The Crawfordville Men’s Sunday School Class with Mr. Brian English as leader, took 70 lbs. of Catfish while noodlin’ on cut mullet Saturday.

Also on Saturday, the 1st Annual Jack Wingate Father’s Day Tournament was held out of Wingate’s Lodge. Our own Mike Sloan and his son, Joey Sloan, won with 20.95 lbs. They had the Big Fish with a 5.65-pounder. Matt Baty and Kyle Henderson took second with 16.64 lbs. They are planning a big rematch on July 18th. I hope even more boats show up for that.

Brandon Smith of Bainbridge had a cooler full of Bream, Shellcrackers and Specks, all on Crickets.

On two occasions this week, Stripers and Hybrids showed up to be taken on Jigs and Live Bait.

There has been lots of Bream and Shellcrackers taken this week. We had one boat with Bream, Crackers and Perch made on Crickets. Perch is hungry when they take a Cricket.

There will be two tournaments going out of Wingate’s this coming Saterday. The Backwoods Outdoors and the Talquin Hookers Bassin’ Gals will be launching.
