A memorial visitation for Shelby Jean Ezell Powers, 58, of Cottonwood, Ala., will be held Wednesday, May 26, at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Dothan, Ala., from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Born in Bainbridge, Mrs. Powers died on Saturday, May 22, 2010, at her residence following a long battle with chronic lung disease.

Mrs. Powers worked for Southeast Alabama Medical Center for 15 years prior to her retirement and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Donald Ezell.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel R. Powers of Cottonwood, Ala.; two sons, Eric Powers of Cowarts, Ala., and Mark Powers of Cottonwood, Ala.; her brother, Lewis Ezell of Bainbridge; her sister, Shirley White of Bainbridge; nine grandchildren and other family and friends.

Southern Funeral Home in Dothan, Ala., is in charge of arrangements.
