Funeral services for Gracie Mae McClain, 81, of Bainbridge, were held Wednesday, May 26, at Mount Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Belinda Coby officiating.

Interment followed in the church’s cemetery with Frederick Fain, Eric Gordon, Eric Grant, Quinntarious McClain, Derrick Pope and Dorian Swain serving as active pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry David McClain; and two sons, Joseph L. McClain and Willie McClain.

Survivors include six sons, Henry McClain Jr., Eddie McClain, Lawayne McClain, Barney McClain and James McClain, all of Bainbridge; three daughters, Verya Crump of Bainbridge and Verdice McClain and Shirley Gordon, both of Sanford, Fla.; four brothers, Enoch Mitchell and Frank Mitchell, both of Climax, Charlie Mitchell of Utica, N.Y., and Ester Mitchell of Bainbridge; two sisters, Emma Mae Patterson of Bainbridge and Minnie Mitchell of Cairo; a sister-in-law, 29 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.

Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
