Four former Bainbridge High School Bearcats who have excelled on and off the football field—James Butler, Nick Williams, Darryl Gamble and Phillip Gamble—recently visited Jones-Wheat Elementary School along with their former coach, Kelvin Cochran, to talk with the fourth-graders about the importance of being good students, exhibit good behavior and making positive choices in life. All of these young men were also part of Jones-Wheat Principal Larry Clark’s BHS track team in past years. They also invited the boys to participate in the James Butler Football Camp at Centennial Field. Butler, a former Georgia Tech standout, now plays for the St. Louis Rams. Nick Williams and Darryl Gamble are starting players for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, and Phillip Gamble is a recent graduate of Marshall University and is currently trying out for the National Football League. The players were accompanied by Cochran, a Bainbridge High School teacher and football coach.
