The 39th annual Bainbridge Bass Club Memorial Day Weekend Buddy Bass Tournament will take place Sunday on Lake Seminole.
Two person teams will leave the docks at Wingate’s lunker lodge at safe daylight and return at 3 p.m. for weigh-in.
The entry fee is $125 and the winning team will receive a quaranteed $2,000 first prize. There will be an optional $10 per boat big fish pot and $5 from each entry fee will go into a smallest legal fish pot.
Each team must register in person with tournament officials by 6 a.m. Sunday. There are no restrictions on pre-tournament practice. Only artificial lures may be used by anglers during the tournament. No live bait or prepared bait will be permitted.
For safety, each team member must wear a Coast Guard-approved life jacket any time the big motor is in operation. Competitors are expected to follow a high standard of sportsmanship and courtesy during the tournament.
Every boat must have all required Coast Guard equipment along with a live well space, properly aerated, to adequately keep alive a limit catch of bass.
Every boat will be given a numbered card which will be used for identification and determining flight or take off position.
Fishing on Lake Seminole is permitted anywhere except within 50 yards of any marina or within 50 yards of another competitor’s anchored boat.
Only largemouth, spotted, red eye and smallmouth bass will be weighed and there will be a five fish limit for each angler. Only bass which measure 12 inches or more will be weighed in.
