Shirley Douglas

Funeral services for Shirley Ann Groomes Douglas, 59, of Thomasville, Ga., were held Saturday, May 22, at Greater Mount Calvary First Born Church in Climax, Ga., with Elder Earl O. Germany officiating.
Interment followed in Fleatown Cemetery.
Born Oct. 21, 1950, in Seminole County, Ga., Mrs. Douglas died on May 14, 2010, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. Douglas graduated from Seminole County (Ga.) High School in 1968. She continued her education at Thomas Technical College and graduated in 1970.
She was preceded in death by her father, Raymond Carr Sr.; and a brother, Tony Doyle.
Survivors include her mother, Annie Doyle of Walterboro, S.C.; a husband, Josephus Douglas Sr.; two sons, Josephus Douglas Jr. and Shawn Douglas, both of Thomasville; a daughter, Seconia Douglas of Thomasville; five sisters, Carrie Taylor, Seconia Mays, Mary Washington and Janice, all of Walterboro, S.C., and Dorothy Bell of Mount Dora, Fla.; two brothers, Carl Doyle of Walterboro, S.C., and Raymond Carr Jr. of Columbus, Ga.; a step-brother, Charles Doyle Jr. of James Island, Fla.; four grandchildren; her father-in-law, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
