Priscilla Hornsby

Funeral services for Priscilla Kelly Hornsby, 69, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Tuesday, May 18, at New Hope Worship Assembly with the Rev. Charles Barineau officiating.

Interment followed at Friendship Cemetery in Donalsonville with Zack Johnston, Trey Johnston, Patrick Wurst, Don Gurr, Ed Rogers and Buster Hurley serving as active pallbearers.

Born Jan. 10, 1941, in Bonifay, Fla., Mrs. Hornsby died on Sunday, May 16, 2010, at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala.

Mrs. Hornsby attended schools in Holmes County, Fla. She attended Judson College and Florida State University. She was an active member of New Hope Worship Assembly. She was a homemaker, a prayer warrior and a mentor to many. She enjoyed fishing with her husband, cooking and beach trips with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her brother, Palmes “Pat” Kelly III.

Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Kenneth L. “Butch” Hornsby; two sons, Kelly Hornsby of Warner Robins, Ga., and Wade Hornsby of Millbrook, Ala.; two daughters, Tracy Johnston of Lucy, Ala., and Holly Whitehead of Leesburg, Ga.; and her sister, Barb Lillis of Lake St. Louis, Mo.; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
