Funeral services for the Rev. Paul Wendell Ezell, 71, of Whigham, Ga., will be held Wednesday, May 12, at 2 p.m., at Pine Level Baptist Church in Cairo, Ga., with the Rev. Jim Weaver officiating.

Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo, Ga., with Ronnie Ezell, Tim Ezell, David Ezell, Emmett Ezell, Eric Horton and Rox Johnson serving as active pallbearers.

Born Dec. 12, 1938, in Whigham, Ga., Rev. Ezell died on Sunday, May 9, 2010, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Fla.

Rev. Ezell was a retired minister. He was retired from Independent Life Insurance Company and was employed by Grady County Schools at the time of his passing.

Rev. Ezell was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Jerome Ezell.

Survivors included his wife, Annette Horton Ezell of Whigham; his mother, Myra T. Ezell of Cairo, Ga.; two sons, Pete Ezell and Jeff Ezell of Cairo, Ga.; two daughters, Sherry Smith of Cairo and Myra Simmons of Laurens, S.C.; a brother, Danny Ezell of Cairo; two sisters-in-law and eight grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home in Cairo is in charge of arrangements.
