Juniors take part in Job Shadowing Day
The Chamber of Commerce and the Development Authority hosted a Job Shadowing Day for 11th-graders of Bainbridge High School and Grace Christian Academy on Tuesday.
Juniors selected to participate in the 2010 Job Shadowing Day were Marcus King, Sara Hodges, Kenneth Burke, Sydney Harrell, Brock Bailey, Sloane Wiggins, Anna Jordan, Aquerija Benett, Amber Johnson, Talisha Thomas, Thomas Timmons, Sam Slaughter, Glorietta Williams, Ansley Watts, Erika Gordon, Nadia Tinson, Whitney Johnson, LaAsha Eady, Malori Maxwell, Jasmine West, Andresha Murphy, Hillary Barfield, Chelsey Bryant, Robert Pascual and Jessica Dunlap.
The day of the event, students met for a meet and greet session and breakfast at the Bainbridge Performing Arts Building at the Boat Basin at 8 a.m. and departed for their industrial work sites until later returning to the amphitheater for lunch.
Students participating showed various areas of interest so a wide variety of shadowing positions were made available to them.
Evelyn Clay, president of the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce, said, “This year, the Job Shadowing Day changed to encompass the 11th grade class so that the students would gain a greater understanding of what industries are located in Decatur County and the industries would gain public exposure in hopes that the students will return to Decatur County in their future careers.”
