DOT to repave 97, Connector
The Georgia Department of Transportation announced three resurfacing projects on State Road 97 and the 97 Connector in Decatur County.
These projects have tentatively been scheduled to begin on Monday, May 3, weather permitting.
This 28-mile project will include milling, inlay, plant mix resurfacing, single surface treatment paving and shoulder reconstruction at various locations on SR 97 and SR 97 Connector.
The total contract amount for all three projects is $6,622,056.70.
For safety reasons, the speed limit will be reduced throughout the project and will change as required until it is completed. Motorists will encounter lane closures throughout this project. This project is scheduled to be completed by the end of October.
Georgia DOT urges travelers to call 511 for updated information about this or any other construction project on interstates and state routes.
