LaFortunes provide relief for Haiti

The owners of the local Bible Thrift Store located on South Scott Street in Bainbridge, Claude and Eunide LaFortune, are grateful for your generous donations of clothing and support to the people of Haiti during their time of disaster and pain in the loss of family members.
The LaFortunes, who lost eight members of their families when the earthquake struck in January, have two churches in Haiti, and wish to support their family in friends in their time of need.
They are asking for your help.
In an effort to provide relief to those individuals remaining in Haiti, the LaFortunes are collecting items to send.
In addition to collecting goods, the LaFortunes ask that financial donations are made to defray the cost of shipping. Packages will be shipped out from Orlando, travel to Miami, and will eventually reach the final destination—Haiti.
Packages will consist of items such as clothing, shoes, dry food (no cans), tents and flavored drink mix. Clean water is now being supplied to Haitians, so the LaFortunes will not need water bottles.
Because cans are so heavy, please send dry food items so that shipping will not be as expensive.
Supplies will be sent out near the end of May, so if “the Lord shines upon your heart to help,” the LaFortunes need these items as soon as possible.
To make donations, please contact Claude and Eunide LaFortune at 614 Church St., Bainbridge, GA 39817 or by phone at (229) 515-6041.
If you wish to make a financial donation to help cover shipping fees, make checks or money order payable to First Haitian Baptist Church.
The LaFortunes are prayerfully thankful, and with your donations, they hope to provide help to their friends in Haiti.
