The Decatur County government is in the process of applying for the Federal Emergency Management Agency Hazard Mitigation Grant program to include the following addresses in the county: 1355 East River Road, 218 Flint River Heights Road, 244 Flint River Heights Road, 302 Flint River Heights Road, 306 Flint River Heights Road, 314 Flint River Heights Road, 364 Flint River Heights Road, 2576 Lake Douglas Road, 114 Oak Street, 135 Rivervale Drive, 211 Rivervale Drive, 181 Riverview Drive, 187 Riverview Drive, 205 Riverview Drive, 211 Riverview Drive and 150 Whispering Pines Drive. The intent of this project is to purchase these aforementioned properties, all of which have experienced at least three documented, damaging flood events and demolish all structures on them in order to create greenspace and prevent future flood damages to same at the sites.
