The Interact Club at Bainbridge High School, sponsored by Rotary, recently participated in the Souper Bowl of Caring. This service-oriented student organization participates in on-campus projects such as Red Ribbon Week and campus clean-up days but extends to community activities such as adopting a family for Christmas, Souper Bowl of Caring and Kids Against Hunger. With a membership of 20, this club localized support during the Super Bowl XLIV season and presented Decatur County Family Connection’s Hunger Prevention Coalition with $1,103.67 and 165 pounds of food. Souper Bowl of Caring is a national youth-led movement joining many organizations to fight hunger and poverty on the local level transforming the biggest football weekend into the largest weekend of giving and serving. And the best part is 100 percent of all donations, food and financial, remain in the local community.
