A funeral service for Johnnie Dot Hudson Scott Wright, 83, of Thomasville, Ga. and formerly of Jakin, Ga., was held Monday, April 5, at Jakin Free Will Baptist Church with the Revs. Wayne Sheffield and Denton Headrick officiating.

Interment followed at Open Pond Cemetery near Jakin, Ga., with David DuPriest Jr., Adam Scott, Daniel Scott, Jesse Young, Stephen Scott, Colby Young and Drake DuPriest serving as active pallbearers.

Born Nov. 3, 1926, in Jakin, Ga., Mrs. Wright died on Saturday, April 3, 2010.

Mrs. Wright was a graduate of Jakin High School, Class of 1942, and attended West Georgia College. She was a licensed practical nurse and volunteered at Triad Nursing Home. She was a member of Jakin Free Will Baptist Church and attended Gateway Baptist Church while in Thomasville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Wright; and her son, Robert P. Wright.

Survivors include her son, Rushy Scott of Jakin, Ga.; her daughters, Joyce Scott DuPriest of North Augusta, S.C., and Susie Wright Young of Coolidge, Ga.; seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
