I was very disappointed to see the “Number One Fan” editorial cartoon appear in the March 24th edition of The Post-Searchlight. Portraying President Obama as a communist, and portraying Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi dressed in a Nazi uniform, which a previous cartoon did, indicates a degree of political extremist that is improper and unseemly in a family-oriented community newspaper.

I feel the editorial staff of your newspaper is not exercising fair judgment in choosing which cartoons will appear.

I’ve chosen to “fight fire with fire” and draw my own editorial cartoon to illustrate my point.

I hope you will not only print my cartoon along with this letter, but will also re-examine the standards by which editorial cartoons are chosen for publication.
