Edward Zajac

Funeral services for Edward “Ed” J. Zajac, 60, of Tallahassee, Fla., were held Monday, March 1, at Kingsway Christian Church in Tallahassee with Brian Tease officiating.

Interment followed at Rehoboth Baptist Church Cemetery in Shellman, Ga., with Wes Greenwald, Ben Kaplin, Walton Monk, Mark Morin, Ricky Rash and Doug Walker serving as active pallbearers.

Born on Feb. 8, 1950, in Springfield, Mass., Mr. Zajac died on Feb. 27, 2010, in the Margaret Dozier House at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee.

Mr. Zajac graduated in 1968 from Merritt Island High School and received an associate’s degree from Brevard Junior College in 1970. Later that year, he joined the U.S. Army and served as a communications technician in Germany. He graduated from Florida State University in 1976 with a bachelor’s in psychology. He was vice president of service at Monk’s Office Machines for more than 20 years. In 1999, he became a partner and general manager of CopyFax2000. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, coaching youth sports and participating in sports.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Worthy and “a special brother,” Dickie Brinson.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Natalie Mason Zajac; his daughter, Mollie Zajac of Tallahassee; his son, Mason Frascona of Quincy, Fla.; two sisters, Melissa Zajac of Tallahassee and Kim Wright of Iowa City, Iowa.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
