A memorial service for Mrs. Elizabeth “Betty” Wagner Deck, 80, of Bainbridge, will be held Sunday, Feb. 28, at 2 p.m. at Faceville Baptist Church with the Revs. Tommy McNair, Kevin Deck and Dr. Jim Corcoran officiating.
Private interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla., at a later date.
The family will receive friends immediately prior to the service at the Faceville Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.
Born June 23, 1929, in Newark, N.J., Mrs. Deck died on Sunday, Feb. 21, 2010, at her residence.
Mrs. Deck was a graduate of Bloomfield High School, Bloomfield, N.J. She worked for several years as an accountant with Coopers and Lybrand and served as secretary of the Fort Lauderdale, Fla., chapter of the National Association of Accountants. Mrs. Deck was a member of the Assemblies of God, and while she and her husband, the Rev. Earnest Wagner, were serving in Ocala, Fla., they was very instrumental in founding Marion Oaks Assembly of God. While in Bainbridge, Mrs. Deck was active in Faceville Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, the Rev. William Earnest Wagner and Mr. Cloid Udell Deck; her daughter Patricia Eliash; and a brother, John J. Corcoran, Jr.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Thompson of Bainbridge; three step-daughters, Louise Tyner of Senoia, Ga., Sharon Owens of Gardendale, Ala., and Renee’ Deck of Tampa, Fla.; a step-son, the Rev. Kevin Deck of Orlando, Fla., two sisters, Lorraine Gallucci of Bainbridge and Jacqueline Linville of Cornelius, N.C.; a brother, Dr. Jim Corcoran of Arizona; 16 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a special niece, Valerie Jean Gallucci of Bainbridge.
