Snakes in the classroom
Brandi Adams, a student teacher at Elcan-King Elementary, conducted a lab observation with Veronica Pearce’s and Teresa Odom’s third-grade classes recently. As part of a unit on habitats, the students were introduced to several non-venomous snakes from various habitats. Included were two ball pythons and one albino California king snake. With the help of the snake owner, Bailey Gause, the students enjoyed some discussion about the individual snakes and a brief question-and-answer session.
