Funeral services for Hoke S. Grant, Jr., 77, of Tallahassee, Fla., will be held Saturday, Jan. 23, at 11 a.m. at Old Philadelphia Presbyterian Church in Quincy, Fla.
Born on April 15, 1932, in St. Andrews, Fla., Mr. Grant died on Jan. 20, 2010.
Mr. Grant graduated from Florida State University, where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity) in 1956 after having served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He worked as assistant director of personnel and then as director of personnel with the Florida Department of Transportation from 1957-1968. Mr. Grant was employed by Flint River Mills Inc. from 1968 until his retirement in 1994. He served as manager of Quincy Feed Mill and the Havana Feed Store. He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include wife, Bettie Jane Grant; two daughters, Bettie Kathryn Grant of Del Norte and Denver, Colo., and Leslie Lundberg of Tallahassee, Fla.; a son Parker Grant of Tallahassee; one brother, U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Robert C. Grant of Miami; and three grandchildren.
McClennan Funeral Home in Quincy, Fla., is in charge of arrangements.
