Robert Alday

Memorial services for Robert Alday, 53, of Oxford, Ga., formerly of Cairo, Ga., will be held Sunday, Jan. 3, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of Cox-Ware Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy McNair officiating.
Born June 19, 1956, in Bainbridge, Mr. Alday died on Dec. 18, 2009, at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta after fighting a battle with lung cancer.
Mr. Alday graduated from Cairo High School in 1974 where he had played football and had a life-long love of football. Mr. Alday enjoyed fishing and camping. Shortly after graduation, he relocated to North Georgia to pursue his career as a carpenter in both commercial and residential construction.
Survivors include two brothers, Kenneth Alday of Macon, Ga., and Jeffery Alday of Jersey, Ga.; three nieces and one nephew.
Cox-Ware Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
