Surprise with a science project
Students in Vicky Smith’s second-grade class at West Bainbridge Elementary School observed a surprise they found in their class pumpkin. Students have been learning about the life cycle of plants. They cut open the class pumpkin and began to clean the seeds out to plant. To their surprise, they found that the life cycle had already begun for one seed inside the pumpkin. They were able to identify the seed, that it had opened, the first leaf had begun to emerge, and the root system had began.
