Thanks to the 21st CCLC Grant and the Decatur County Education Foundation, Hutto Middle School was able to hold its first Family Math and Reading Fun Night on Oct. 20. The whole idea behind Family Math and Reading Fun Night is so that parents, grandparents or any other family members can become more active in their students’ learning process. This year, Hutto Middle School had more than 440 people attend the Family Math and Reading Fun Night. There were more than 24 activities for the students and parents to choose from. After a fun-filled hour of engaging, instructional activities, the students and their families were invited to the lunchroom for a hotdog dinner complete with a drink, chips and dessert. The Family Math and Reading Fun Night provided great quality time for the students and their families to become engaged in the learning process while having loads of fun.
