Climax Mayor Elizabeth Sheddy Phillips is recovering in a Thomasville hospital after she was injured in an auto accident on Monday, according to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.

Phillips, who is serving her last month as mayor of Climax, was in good condition at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville as of 5 p.m. Tuesday, a spokesperson for the hospital said.
