JJE’s Accelerated Reader winners honored
John Johnson Elementary School students who made their Accelerated Reader goal for the first nine weeks had the opportunity to put their name in a drawing to be one of the lucky winners to go to American Pie Pizza and become a real pizza chef. Jason Priest, the owner of American Pie, allowed each student to make their own pizza from scratch, top it with their favorite toppings and then bake it to perfection. Students were also able to enjoy their pizzas while at the restaurant. As a finale to the event, Mr. Priest demonstrated how to throw the pizza dough in order to stretch it to various sizes.
