Funeral service for Janice Boutwell Miles, 56, of Bainbridge, will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at New Home Free Will Baptist Church No. 2 near Climax with the Rev. S.E. Newberry officiating.
Interment will follow at New Home Free Will Baptist Church No. 2 Cemetery with Brantley Hall, Blake Hall, Darryl Cumbie, Wesley Cumbie, Taylor Cumbie, Johnathan Cumbie, Brian Henry and Shane Henry serving as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 14, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Ivey Funeral Home.
Born April 4, 1953, in Decatur County, Mrs. Miles died on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Ga.
Mrs. Miles was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1971, and was an accounting paraprofessional for Bainbridge Probation Substance Abuse Treatment Center. Mrs. Miles sang with the Cumbie Family for more than 25 years and was a member of New Home Free Will Baptist Church No. 2 in Climax.
Survivors include her parents, John Paul and Mary Heard Boutwell of Climax; her husband of 38 years, Larry A. Miles of Bainbridge; three daughters, Jennifer Miles and Valerie M. Davis, both of Donalsonville, and Melissa M. Cundiff of Bainbridge; three sisters, Belinda Cumbie of Bainbridge, Donna Spooner of Camilla and Teresa Henry of Donalsonville; and three grandchildren, Logan Davis, Jackson Davis and Miles Cundiff.
Ivey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
