Frances Murphy

Funeral services for Sister Frances Lee Williams Murphy, 60, were held Monday, Oct. 26, at United Full Gospel Church in Pelham, Ga., with Dr. Earl Hines Sr. serving as the eulogist and Elder Israel Blakes officiating.
Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery in Bainbridge with brothers of United Full Gospel Church serving as active pallbearers.
Born Nov. 6, 1949, in Bainbridge, Mrs. Murphy died on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. Murphy attended West Bainbridge Elementary School and graduated from Hutto High School with the Class of 1968. She later married and moved to North Carolina and lived briefly in Panama City, Fla., before returning to Bainbridge in 1986. She worked as a seamstress at Williamson Dickie for more than 30 years. She later worked at Ithaca Industries and Visual Impulse. She was active in her church and enjoyed cooking.
Preceding her in death were her father, Clem Britt Williams; and her brother, Willie Andrew Williams.
Survivors include her mother, Callie Bell “Madear” Williams; her son, Robert Charles Murphy II; a sister-in-law, four special nieces and nephews, a grand-nephew, several aunts and uncles and a host of other family and friends.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
