A memorial service for James Rodney Suggs, 55, of Donalsonville, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. in the chapel at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville with Dr. Gary Smith officiating.
Born in Bainbridge on March 1, 1954, Mr. Suggs died on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2009, at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge.
Mr. Suggs graduated from Seminole County High School in 1972, where he played football for Coach Marcus Holley. In 1972, Mr. Suggs received the Mike Bowen Award for his excellence in football. He graduated from Bainbridge College in 1992. He worked as a licensed practical nurse, a forest ranger and a HVAC mechanic. Mr. Suggs attended Hammock Springs Freewill Baptist Church. He loved to hunt and fish, as well as to watch football. Mr. Suggs was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Survivors include his parents, James W. and Othelia Black Suggs of Donalsonville; his wife, Angie Suggs of Donalsonville; one son, Kevin Suggs of Donalsonville; one brother, Ricky Lee Suggs of Donalsonville; one sister, Tamara Lynn Suggs Bradley of Bainbridge; three grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
