Funeral services for Frances Miller Walker, 70, of Colquitt, Ga., were held Sunday, Oct. 4, in the Young Memorial Chapel at Bruton Mortuary with the Rev. Kelvin Wells officiating.
Interment followed in Springfield Cemetery in Baker County with Jovarek Atwell, Junior Walker, Cornelius Miller, Derrick Walker and Herman Peterson serving as active pallbearers.
Born Oct. 24, 1938, in Colquitt, Mrs. Walker died on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009, at Archbold Medical Center in Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. Walker attended Miller County schools. She worked as a radiology clerk at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla., from 1964 to 1996, when she moved back to Colquitt to care for her parents.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Reginald E. Walker and Ronald Walker; and a daughter, Cassandra J. Lowe.
Survivors include her daughter, Felisa R. Lowe; a son, Dinnie James Walker; seven sisters, Lizzie Walker of Kennesaw, Ga., Leola Roberts of Linden, N.J., Thelma Bland of Burgaw, N.C., Grace Ann Miller of Brooklyn, N.Y., Elizabeth Miller of Atlanta, Ga., Ester Ruth Powell of Decatur, Ga., and Gloria Jean Anderson; three brothers, Leroy Miller Jr., Cornelius Miller and Samual Miller; 12 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews; and two special friends, Marsha and Herman Pierre Peterson.
Bruton Mortuary was in charge of funeral arrangements.
