Funeral services for Freida H. Nicholson, 84, of Iron City, Ga., was held Sunday, Sept. 27, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Brinson with the Rev. Jimmy Dean officiating.

A graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29, at Panorama Memorial Gardens in Waterlick, Va., with the Rev. Bobby Andrews officiating.

Born Aug. 20, 1925, in Castleton, Va., Mrs. Nicholson died on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Donalsonville Hospital.

Mrs. Nicholson was a homemaker and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Jackson Nicholson; her daughter, Pat N. Brownhill; and her sister, Rebecca H. Sibert.

Survivors include two daughters, Benita N. Hawley and Clarice N. Holman, both of Iron City; two brothers, Everett P. Heflin of Lawsonville, N.C., and Herbert Hoover Heflin of Front Royal, Va.; and her granddaughter, Amanda Hawley of Iron City, Ga.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
