Bearcats still in the spotlight
The unbeaten Bainbridge High School Bearcats football team are still in the media spotlight as they head for a showdown in Macon against unbeaten Westside High School.
This week, the Bainbridge Bearcats are ranked No. 6 among Class AAAA teams in the Georgia Sportswriters Association poll, No. 6 in the Coaches’ Association poll and No. 8 in the Georgia High School Football Daily/Atlanta Journal-Constitution rankings.
Thanks to the four Bearcats alumni who played in the Georgia-Arkansas college football game last Saturday, Bainbridge was mentioned on ESPN’s national telecast of the game.

Another of the Bearcats’ Region 1-AAAA foes, the Hardaway Golden Hawks are also 4-0. They received votes in the latest sportswriters’ poll but remain unranked. Bainbridge will play Hardaway in Columbus on Oct. 16.
The Seminole County High School Indians, who have a 3-1 record, are ranked No. 10 in the coaches’ poll for Class A. They received votes in the latest sportswriters’ poll but were not ranked.
