Funeral services for David Daniels Jr., 71, of Havana, Fla., will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Havana, with the Rev. Simon Simmons Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow at St. James Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Havana with Jimmie Daniels, Douglas Daniels, Melvin Walker, Aaron Knight, Charles President and Jerry Derico serving as active pallbearers.
Visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at Chandler’s Funeral Home in Attapulgus.
Born Jan. 3, 1938, in the Amsterdam community of Decatur County, Mr. Daniels died on Sept. 12, 2009, at Tallahassee (Fla.) Memorial Health Care.
Mr. Daniels was a retired stock clerk. He was a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Havana and a former member of the Gospelaires. He was preceded in death by his former wives, Hattie Daniels and Sandra Daniels.
Survivors include a daughter, Frances R. Daniels of Havana; two brothers, Jimmie Daniels of Tallahassee and Douglas M. Daniels of Havana; one granddaughter, two great-granddaughters, as well as nephews, nieces and cousins.
Chandler’s Funeral Home in Attapulgus is in charge of funeral arrangements.
