Murray Hall

Funeral services for Murray “Blue” Hall, 62, of Bainbridge, were held Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Vincent Easley officiating.

Interment followed in Jonas Lobe Cemetery with a U.S. Air Force Honor Guard serving as active pallbearers.

Born Feb. 14, 1947, in Boykin, Ga., Mr. Hall died on Sept. 1, 2009, at Archbold Hospital in Thomasville, Ga.

Mr. Hall was raised in Boykin and Bainbridge and attended Hutto High School in Bainbridge. After moving north, he enlisted in the Air Force, where he retired after 20 years as a master sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Hall.

Survivors include his mother, Annie Hall of Donalsonville, Ga.; his wife of 25 years, Romella Hall; a son, Prince Hall of Atlanta, Ga.; an adopted son, Tyrone Hall of Tampa, Fla.; five brothers, Johnny Hall, Ulysses Hall, Willie Hall and Ernest Hall, all of Bainbridge, and Sylvester Hall of Germany; seven sisters, Irene Hopkins of Donalsonville, Truddie Howard and Ruby Taylor, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., Jessie Hobbs of Boynton Beach, Fla., Susie B. Harris of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Bessie Reed and Georgia Hall, both of Rochester, N.Y.; his godchild, Cassandra Williams of Massachusetts; a very special brother, Freddie McCray; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, other family and friends.

Guyton Brothers Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
