Funeral services for Richard Ray Hodges, 70 of Decatur, Ga., will be held at a later date in Crozet, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2009 at Wages and Sons in Stone Mountain, Ga.

Born September 7, 1938 in Thomasville, Ga., Mr. Hodges passed away peacefully on August 31, 2009.

Hodges received a Bachelor’s and Masters degree in management from Georgia Institute of Technology; Atlanta, Ga., and later continued his education earning a Doctorate from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga. After starting his career with various companies including Lockheed (Martin) and Western Electric he returned to Atlanta, where he met his wife and started his career at Georgia State University, which lasted over 25 years.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Ann Burton Hodges.

Survivors include daughter Laura Hodges of Decatur.; son Ray Hodges; daughter-in-law Julie Hodges; two grandchildren and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Wages & Sons Funeral Homes in Stone Mountain, Ga., is in charge of funeral arrangements.
