A funeral service for William Lottie Arthur, 73, of Faceville, Ga., will be held Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kip Boswell and Tommy McNair officiating.

Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery with Greg Jeter, Jeff Jeter, Richard White, David Howell, Troy Arthur and Shane Steadham serving as active pallbearers.

Born Jan. 14, 1936, in Hamilton, Ala., Mr. Arthur died on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at his residence.

Mr. Arthur was retired from Engelhard with 42 years of service and was a volunteer with the Faceville Volunteer Fire Department. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his brother, David Lee Arthur, his sister, Lucille Nichols, and his grandson, Jeffery Trent Arthur Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara Broxton Arthur of Faceville; his son, Trent Arthur of Faceville; his daughter, Dawn Womble of Jakin, Ga.; and four grandchildren.

Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge is in charge of funeral arrangements.
