A memorial service for Shannon Michelle Maddox Stokes, 34, of Iron City, Ga., will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home with Ron McCaskill officiating.

A private family interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens.

Born on April 26, 1975, in Pensacola, Fla., Mrs. Stokes died on Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at her residence.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Stokes was preceded in death by her father; and a son, Shawn Michel Stokes.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry Wayne Stokes Sr. of Iron City; two sons, Jerry Stokes Jr. and Jeremy Brandon Stokes, both of Iron City; her mother, Sharon Newberry, and stepfather Stephen of Iron City; her paternal grandmother, Elizabeth Maddox of Dothan, Ala.; three brothers, John Maddox of Donalsonville, Ga., Robert Maddox of Ashford, Ala., and Terry Newberry of Donalsonville.; a sister, Stephanie McLendon of Donalsonville; two uncles, an aunt, numerous nieces and nephews and other family and friends.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of funeral arrangements.
