Funeral services for Dianne Gardner Poitevint, 65, of Bainbridge, were held Sunday, Aug. 23, at Trinity Baptist Church with the Revs. Carl Garnett and Kenneth Cloud officiating.

Interment followed at Roselawn Memory Gardens with Bruce Martin, Lee Howard, Ken Pierce, Gene Timmons, Max Sorrell and Michael Friend serving as active pallbearers.

Born in Decatur County on Jan. 7, 1944, Ms. Poitevint died on Aug. 20, 2009, at her residence.

A lifelong resident of Decatur County, Ms. Poitevint was an active member of Trinity Baptist Church. She loved to spend her time baking, gardening and being with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jimmy Poitevint.

She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Anderson and Brandy Howard, both of Bainbridge; one son, Ron Anderson of Suwanee, Ga.; three sisters, Elnora Friend, Catherine Catledge and Christine Timmons, all of Bainbridge; six grandchildren, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Cox-Ware Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
