Irene Chandler

Funeral services for Irene Beulah McCalvin Chandler, 81, of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Sunday, Aug. 16, at Donalsonville Church of God with the Revs. Kip Boswell and Rollin Rathel officiating.
Interment followed in Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Collin Chandler, Connor Chandler, Michael Chandler, Will Chandler, Bill Moody and Ricky Smith serving as active pallbearers.
Born in Colquitt, Ga., on March 31, 1928, Mrs. Chandler died on Friday, Aug. 14, 2009, at her residence.
She was a faithful member of the Donalsonville Church of God. She worked for a number of years as a seamstress at Dickies before being at home, baking and sewing for her family. Mrs. Chandler also loved to fish and spend time outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, John Roy McCalvin; and two sisters, Fannie Mae Evans and Myrtle Chandler.
Survivors include two sons, Carlous Chandler of Donalsonville and Ralph Lon Chandler of California; a daughter, Brenda Spooner of Iron City, Ga.; a brother, Herman McCalvin of Colquitt; two sisters, Lillian Smith of Colquitt and Eunice Williams of Bainbridge; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville was in charge of the arrangements.
