Funeral services for Doris Rentz Barbree, 84, of Bainbridge, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church with the Rev. Tommy Willis officiating.

Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Keith Dunlap, Kenneth Dunlap, Mervin Barbree Jr., Jason Roten, Kevin Futrell, Wayne Poitevint and Spencer Dunlap serving as active pallbearers.

Born Aug. 24, 1924, in Reno, Ga., Mrs. Barbree died on Monday, Aug. 17, at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, Ga.

Mrs. Barbree was a sales representative for Mary Kay Cosmetics, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jason Truman “J.T.” Barbree; and a son, L. Mervin Barbree.

Survivors include her son, Tim Barbree of Leesburg, Ga.; her three daughters, Melanie B. Futrell of Cleveland, Ga., Deborah B. Thursby of Bainbridge and Rhonda B. Roten of Dawsonville, Ga.; her brother, John Cartledge of Bainbridge; her three sisters, Dot Ellis of Crawfordville, Fla., Lenora Stokely of Woodville, Fla., and Mary Sue Piper of Bangor, Maine; 23 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
