Bivins attends several camps

Abraham Thomas Bivins has successfully completed a vigorous five-week Academic Boot Camp at Concordia College in Selma, Ala. He excelled in math, English and computer skills. Bivins also participated in body conditioning every morning, and went on trips, which consisted of traveling to Birmingham to attend a semi-pro football game, Pensacola Beach, fishing on a farm, and a trip to a state prison. He will be returning for the Hornet’s Band Camp on July 26 and prepare for classes in the fall. Bivins also recently attended a week-long summer band camp at Florida A&M University with the Marching 100s. He received a $475 scholarship from Delta Sigma Sorority Inc. of Quincy, Fla. He plans to transfer to FAMU and play in the Marching 100s Band after two years at Concordia College while pursuing a major in business administration and minor in social work. He is the son of the Rev. Adren Bivins Sr., and Sylvia Bivins; the grandson of the late Abraham Bivins and Hazel Bivins of Plant City, Fla., the late Thomas Jefferson Sr. and Annie B. Jefferson of Fowlstown, Ga. Bivins is a 2009 graduate of Bainbridge High School, where he played in the BHS Marching Band.
