Donalsonville assistant city clerk arrested for theft by taking

An assistant city clerk for the City of Donalsonville has been arrested and charged with on count of felony theft by taking.

On Monday, Kimberly Juan Odom, 34, of 8314 Lake Carroll Drive in Donalsonville, was arrested by officers from the Georgia Department of Investigations and booked into the Seminole County Jail.

Donalsonville Police Chief Jimmy Holt said the arrest came as a result of a discrepancy discovered during an annual city audit conducted by Burke, Worsham and Harrell. He said the audit showed an undisclosed amount of money was missing during the month of June. Holt said all other monies were accounted for through May 2009.

Holt said part of her job responsibilities included taking utility payments and business license payments.

Odom was released on a $2,000 bond Monday afternoon, according to Holt.

Odom has been suspended from work without pay pending termination by the City of Donalsonville, said Holt.

Odom is the District 5 Seminole County Board of Education representative. She is also a former administrative assistant with the City of Bainbridge’s Main Street Office.
